Seven Former Players Named National High School Tennis All Americans

Seven past participants of the DecoTurf High School Tennis Team Championships have been named 2012 National High School All Americans by the National High School Tennis All-American Foundation. The past participants include Illinois signee and 2012 Most Valuable Player, Jared Hilzik (New Trier), University of North Carolina signees Brett Clark (Barron Collier) and Chad Hoskins (RJ Reynolds), Penn signee Blaine Willenborg (Pine Crest) and Junior Roy Lederman (Pine Crest). Junior Kortney Keegan (Blessed Trinity) became the first girls' participant to receive the prestigious honor.

The National High School Tennis All-American Foundation (NHSTAAF) is a non-profit corporation formed to promote high school boys and girls tennis and to recognize the most outstanding high school players and teams from throughout the United States. To be eligible to receive consideration as an All-American tennis player a student/athlete must maintain an above average academic and citizenship record, compete on a high school tennis team, and garner an individual national ranking. Each year All-American awards are presented to the top 40 boys and top 40 girls in the United States, with the majority of those honored moving on to compete at the highest collegiate tennis levels, and a few even advancing to the professional circuits.
