WHERE ARE THEY NOW...Robert Stineman

The 2011 DecoTurf High School Tennis Team Championships Most Valuable Player, Robert Stineman is getting it done on the court and in the classroom. Stineman, a sophomore at Stanford University, traveled half way across the country to play collegiate tennis but is still finding success. The 2010 and 2011 Illinois Singles State Champion and Team State Champion was named the team MVP for four straight seasons at Winnetka New Trier High School. Stineman who finished his high school career as the 5th ranked senior in the class of 2011 according to the Tennis Recruiting Network and was a blue-chip recruit. Stineman's junior accomplishments include being named the 2010 USTA Midwest Player of the Year and selection as a National High School Tennis All-American in 2010 and 2011.

Stineman picked up first collegiate victory on October 14, 2012 defeating San Francisco's William Schumacher 7-5, 6-1 and went on to win a season-high five consecutive matches the following week. Stineman captured consolation title at the ITA Northwest Regional Championships and compiled a 22-13 overall singles record including a 14-8 dual-match record. Stineman compiled a 23-15 overall doubles record during his freshman season including a 13-11 record in dual matches. Stineman capped off his freshman season going undefeated in NCAA Tournament play as Stanford advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals. He was one of seven members of the 2011-12 Stanford men's tennis team to be selected as ITA Scholar-Athletes.

Stineman and the Stanford Cardinal kicked off their 2012-13 season on September 21st in the Napa Valley Tennis Classic. Stineman's season got off to a tough start as he dropped a pair of three set matches and lost another in a second set tiebreak to fall to 0-3 on the season.

Tournament Advisory Board

The DecoTurf High School Tennis Team Championships would like to invite you to be a part of the Tournament Advisory Board. Whether you are a player, parent, coach, sponsor, official or fan you play an important role in making this a top notch event. We value your opinion on what would make this event better in the future. As part of the Tournament Advisory Board you will complete surveys and questionnaires and participate in email and discussion board communications to assist the tournament staff in planning for the event. This is a great opportunity for past coaches and players to give back to the tournament and help us improve for the future. The total time commitment for a Tournament Advisory Board member will be approximately 1 hours per month.

Internship Opportunities

The DecoTurf High School Tennis Team Championships is looking for talented, aggressive, outgoing and innovative interns to assist in the preparation for this year's event. Internships will assist with Event Operations, Public Relations and Promotions, Graphics and Website Design, and Sponsorship Sales, Development and Marketing. 

If you know anyone interested in the opportunity please forward this information along. Full time internships are preferred & recommended, but part time internships are also available. WHERE ARE THEY NOW...Jimmy Roebker

 Two-time Kentucky High School Singles State Champion and 2010 DecoTurf High School Tennis Team Championships All-Tournament Team selection, Jimmy Roebker is now making a name for himself at the collegiate level.  Roebker, a junior at Xavier University (Cincinnati, OH), has found a home just across the river from his alma mater Covington Catholic. The 2009 and 2010 Kentucky Singles State Champion led his Covington Catholic team to a 2010 State Runner-Up finish, garnered All-State honors and was named the Forcht Group of Kentucky Sportsmanship Award Winner. Roebker finished his senior year at Covington Catholic as a 5-star recruit according the the Tennis Recruiting Network and was ranked 38th in the nation. He was also named a prestigious National High School Tennis All American.

Jimmy quickly made an impact at the collegiate level posting a 19-16 overall singles record and 22-13 overall doubles record his freshman year earning Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year honors and being named a First Team All-Conference selection. The Fort Mitchell, Kentucky native posted a 29-11 overall singles record his sophomore year including an 18-5 dual match record at #1 singles. Roebker also posted a 24-9 overall doubles record his sophomore season leading the Musketeers to their second straight Atlantic 10 Championship match. Roebker finished the 2012 A-10 Championships undefeated in dual match play but the second seeded Musketeers fell to George Washington for the second straight season. His sophomore campaign earned Roebker First Team All-Conference honors for the second straight season.

Roebker got off to a great start in his junior year winning the singles competition at the ITA Summer Circuit at Purdue University in July. The Musketeers kick off their fall season on September 14th at the Western Michigan Hidden Dual Event in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Seven Former Players Named National High School Tennis All Americans

Seven past participants of the DecoTurf High School Tennis Team Championships have been named 2012 National High School All Americans by the National High School Tennis All-American Foundation. The past participants include Illinois signee and 2012 Most Valuable Player, Jared Hilzik (New Trier), University of North Carolina signees Brett Clark (Barron Collier) and Chad Hoskins (RJ Reynolds), Penn signee Blaine Willenborg (Pine Crest) and Junior Roy Lederman (Pine Crest). Junior Kortney Keegan (Blessed Trinity) became the first girls' participant to receive the prestigious honor.

The National High School Tennis All-American Foundation (NHSTAAF) is a non-profit corporation formed to promote high school boys and girls tennis and to recognize the most outstanding high school players and teams from throughout the United States. To be eligible to receive consideration as an All-American tennis player a student/athlete must maintain an above average academic and citizenship record, compete on a high school tennis team, and garner an individual national ranking. Each year All-American awards are presented to the top 40 boys and top 40 girls in the United States, with the majority of those honored moving on to compete at the highest collegiate tennis levels, and a few even advancing to the professional circuits.
