2013 Girls Bracket Released

The pairing for the 2013 Girls' DecoTurf High School Tennis Team Championships have been released. The tournament will begin on Friday, March 15th with some exciting first round match-ups. 

Two-time defending tournament champion Baylor (Chattanooga, TN) will open play against Cookeville (Cookeville, TN) and defending Kentucky State Champion Lone Oak (Paducah, KY) will open play against Tennessee Division II Class AA semi-finalist Harpeth Hall (Nashville, TN). Jenks (Jenks, OK) will look to follow up a 4th place finish in the 2012 event as they open play against defending West Virginia Class AAA State Champion Huntington (Huntington, WV). 2012 Tennessee Division I Class AAA runner-up Dobyns-Bennett (Kingsport, TN) will take on Winter Park (Winter Park, FL) who finished 3rd in Florida's Class 4A last season. Defending Tennessee Division II Class A State Champion Webb School of Knoxville (Knoxville, TN) will open play against Tennessee Division I Class AAA semi-finalist Siegel (Murfreesboro, TN). Ocean Springs (Ocean Spring, MS) won their third straight Mississippi Class 6A State Championship last season and will open play against Florida Class 2A runner-up Gulliver Prep (Miami, FL).  Tennessee Division I Class AAA State Champion Ravenwood (Brentwood, TN) will open play against Kentucky semi-finalist Sacred Heart (Louisville, KY) and Kentucky runner-up Notre Dame (Park Hills, KY) will open play against Kentucky quarterfinalist DuPont Manual (Louisville, KY).

The tournament will consist of two rounds of play on Friday, March 15th and two rounds of play on Saturday, March 16th. The tournament championship is scheduled for Saturday at 2:30pm at E.P. Sawyer State Park. To view a printable copy of the bracket click here.

Former Participants Excel at Collegiate Level

Former DecoTurf High School Tennis Team Championships participants are making their mark on college tennis. Five former All-Tournament team members have made the first ITA Rankings of the 2013 season. 

Robert Stineman - The 2011 Tournament MVP has made his mark at Stanford. The sophomore is currently ranked 14th in the ITA Northwest Singles Rankings. Stineman was named an ITA Scholar Athlete last season finishing his freshman year with a 22-13 overall record. 

Brett Clark - The 2011 & 2012 All-Tournament Team member is quickly making an impact at North Carolina in his freshman season. The former High School All-American was ranked 9th ITA Carolina Singles Rankings and 57th in the nation in the first ITA National Singles Rankings.

Jared Hiltzik - The 2012 Tournament MVP and 2011 All-Tournament Team member has made a swift transition to collegiate tennis at Illinois. The  former High School All-American was ranked 10th in the ITA Midwest Singles Rankings and 9th in the ITA Midwest Doubles Rankings. The Illini freshman was ranked 114th in  the nation in the first ITA National Singles Rankings.

Alex Gornet - The three-time All-Tournament Team member and 2010 Tournament MVP has made an impact early in his freshman year at Louisville. The Saint Xavier graduate was ranked  4th in the ITA Ohio Valley Doubles Rankings and 31st in the nation in the ITA National Doubles Rankings. 

Jimmy Roebker - The former All-Tournament Team member has made a strong impact in his first two seasons at Xavier. The former High School All-American was ranked 55th in the nation in the ITA National Doubles Rankings.
