The DecoTurf High School Tennis Team Championships is a national invitational high school tennis tournament. In 2020, the event will be held in Chattanooga, TN. This year our event will host 32 boys teams and 32 girls teams in non-elimination format divisions. All participating teams will be guaranteed 4 matches in tournament play. Teams will be placed into 8 team divisions based on the combined UTR ratings of their top 6 players. The event will use a college dual-match format with six singles matches and 3 doubles matches. Players may play both singles and doubles positions. Each match will count as one point in the team dual match with the team earning 5 or more points advancing in tournament play.
There is a no-stacking rule in effect for the tournament. Coaches are expected to play their best player at #1 singles, second best at #2 singles and the best doubles team at #1 doubles. Coaches may change their lineup during the event but their lineup should remain in order of strength at all times.
This entry fee helps cover costs associated with the event including balls, court fees, tournament officials, trophies and t-shirts for participating players and coaches. A contract for athletic participation is required for all participating teams.
Awards will be given to the Champion, Runner-Up, and Third Place. An All-Tournament Team and Most Valuable Player will be selected by the tournament staff.
Additional questions should be directed to Tournament Director, Brandon Feusner at (502) 819-7784 or hstennischampionships@gmail.com.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
The tournament committee sends out more than 400 invitations each summer/fall to teams throughout the country. Invitations are sent out based on information available to the tournament committee including top returning players and team results from last season. Teams that do not get an invitation can still reserve their spot by filling out the Participant Interest Form. A team MUST be a member of their state association to compete in the event.
We have at least 18 indoor courts with guaranteed availability in the event of inclement weather. The tournament is an outdoor event and we will make every attempt to complete the tournament outdoors but will move indoors if necessary. In the event that additional courts are necessary the participating teams will split the cost of any indoor court fees per the tournament contract.
How many matches is a team guaranteed?
All teams are guaranteed at least three matches in tournament play. Teams in select divisions may play up to four matches in tournament play. In the event of inclement weather, the tournament has the right to shorten the format or reduce matches if necessary.
Is this tournament sanctioned by my state association?
Which division will my team play in?
The placement of teams into divisions is done by the tournament committee and is subject to change based on changes in roster. Teams will be split into 8 team divisions based on the combined UTR rating of their Top 6 players. This will ensure teams get competitive matches in tournament play. If a coach requests a specific division for tournament play we will take that into account but ultimately teams will be placed into appropriate divisions based on the Power 6 UTR rating.
